DISLIKED: Price is a little high compared to other HK Cafes. Restaurant parking is across the street.
i-Cafe is a Chinese restaurant on West Broadway that specializes in Hong Kong style cuisine. i-Cafe has been around for over 10 years at the corner of Heather and West Broadway in the Fraserview area. There is i-Cafe parking at Holiday Inn across the street, limited spots.
Nice dining area, with big windows and natural light. The restaurant is on the second floor of the building so you get a nice view too.
The Lunch Combo includes Soup of the Day, and buns with butter. On this day the soup was Cream of Mushroom.
Bread buns nice and soft and dense.
The Soup of the Day, Cream of Mushroom has a good amount of mushrooms in a medium thickness soup.
The meal also include a choice of drink, like Hot Milk Tea in addition to regular tea.
Chicken and Bitter Melon with Black Bean Sauce on Rice $15.95
Deep Fried Fish and Chicken Steak with Black Pepper Corn Sauce $16.45
Black Pepper Corn Sauce gravy. So good!
And tartar sauce to go with the fried fish.
PRICE:
$$ AFFORDABLE. More expensive than your average HK Cafe. Over $10 per dish. Around $15-$20 per person with tax and tip and any extras.
QUALITY:
GOOD! The deep fried fish was crispy, and chicken steak was good. Good portion sizes. The gravy was delicious. The hot milk tea was good and the rice steaming hot and fresh.
SERVICE:
GOOD! Fast, friendly. Soup, bread and drinks served first followed by main dishes.
VERDICT:
Overall, SATISFIED. ICafe has a good menu of Hong Kong style dishes, and Lunch Combos nicely presented, and delicious.
