There are many times that the vendor will not give you a receipt unless you ask for it.
You need the receipt to show guest service so you can spin the wheel!
FOOD
Don Oso, and Butchers Block BBQ, and Wak Wak Burger are the most popular.
Go for the RIBS at Butcher’s Block BBQ.
There doesn’t seem to be a unique ASIAN FOOD typical of a Night Market. No SQUID / OCTOPUS legs here. No Dim Sum.
La Meza Grill closed at 8:30p for a break.
General Observations
- Nice convenient location and visible from Skytrain station.
- Nice decorations and spots for selfies around the fountain.
- Small venue for the amount of people. South Plaza (the FOUNTAIN in front of Metrotown) is a small venue and it gets busy very quickly!
- Not enough tables but there are some chairs and seats by the fountain or in front of Chipotle.
- No porta potties.
- Hand Washing station is very convenient, but not enough/no hand tissues.
- Two cookie vendors is too much. The organizers should limit similar vendors.
- No drink vendors
- Food is a bit limited.
- No non food vendors.
- No Ice Cream
- Busy lots of strollers
- Lineups are not organized
The micro “Night Market” in Burnaby is a nice FREE 4 day summer event with entertainment and food, but they should consider curating the vendors, and maybe expanding it a little. Potential to grow and improve.
