VIETNAMESE CUISINE BANH MI

*NEW PRICE / PRICE INCREASE AUGUST 1 2021*

This video is to update Banh Mi fans on the price increase at Ba Le Deli and Bakery at Kingsway and Fraser in East Vancouver.

Ba Le in East Vancouver is a popular Vietnamese sandwich shop, and one of the original Banh Mi shops in Vancouver.

Old prices at of July 31, 2021

The price of Banh Mi Vietnamese sandwich has gone up! Most restaurants have increased prices because of the pandemic food cost. At Ba-Le Deli & Bakery, the price will go up $.50 on August 1st! Sandwiches that are $6.25 will now cost $6.75.

Banh Mi is a traditional Vietnamese street food. Street food is supposed to be affordable. Unfortunately, the days of cheap Banh Mi are GONE. Ba Le is still affordable, the bread and deli meats are made in house, so customers are supporting a local family-run business.

Grilled Pork formerly $6.25  NOW $6.75

Lemongrass Chicken formerly $6.25 NOW $6.75

Ba Le does a good job with putting a fair portion size of fillings in the bread. With the price increase that doesn’t mean they’ll be adding any more ingredients.

Ba Le also does wholesale and probably make most profit from wholesale and not from walk-in customers. Too bad they decided to increase the price on everything! Will this increase make them less popular?

Tough times for the food industry. What do you think of the price increase at Ba Le and at other businesses? How much of a price increase is too much of an increase for you?
