Street Auntie on Granville Street Entertainment District in downtown Vancouver specializes in modern Asian. It opened in November 2020 and has a unique look and name. Aperitivo means appetizer in Italian, or ‘to prepare for a meal.’ Unique name, but is it GOOD?
Street Auntie has take-out and dine-in with fair prices. They have a Lunch Combo, with appetizer, main course, and dessert. Coffee or Tea is included. Nice way to introduce curious diners to the modern cuisine. This restaurant seems nice for lunch, dinner, or drinks.
You can choose ONE of FIVE Lunch dishes.
Fried Chicken, Stir Fry, Duck Noodle Soup, Chilled Chicken Rice Noodles, and Pork Belly Fried Rice. The dishes are inspired by Yunnan street food.

Nice texture, flavour and color! Very unique culinary creation you won’t find often at your average Asian restaurant. Surprisingly tasty!

The Summer Tasting Menu is the Dinner menu at Street Auntie. This menu has seafood oysters, croquette, salmon, as well as beef, foie gras and dessert!

$$ FAIR PRICE. Lunch Combo $18.99 is a fair price for what’s offered.
QUALITY:
OK! Nice presentation and creative culinary dishes like broccoli basil soup, and appetizers. Stir Fry was tasty. The fried chicken was just ok. Portion size seemed small. The steamed rice was hard and not soft or steaming hot.
SERVICE:
GOOD! Friendly. Good explanation of menus and dishes.
VERDICT:
Overall, SATISFIED. Street Auntie is a nice business that has modern Asian. The lunch combos are a good way to experience their offerings, but they need to do better with the simple things like freshness of steamed rice. Bad rice brings down the meal especially if it’s Asian cuisine! In a city full of fried chicken, Street Auntie’s Signature Dish seemed just ok.
