WALKING TO CRYSTAL MALL

 

GUTOM WALKS BURNABY! This walk is on Kingsway from Olive Ave to Willingdon Ave walking towards Crystal Mall. It’s a short walk but with a nice selection of restaurants on this part of Kingsway. This area is growing in popularity close to Vancouver and Metrotown.

 

Walking EAST on Kingsway. Kingsway is a historic and very busy street that goes all the way from New Westminster to Vancouver’s Main Street Chinatown! This stretch of Kingsway has lots of residential and Patterson Skytrain Station is a few blocks away on Olive Ave.

Waves Coffee House a popular local coffee cafe chain.
Some locations were 24 hours! They are also known for having BITCOIN machines at some locations!

 

Ramie’s Greek Restaurant has been here a long time! They have good souvlaki and calamari!

 

Saffron Indian Cuisine was known for their AYCE buffet. Due to the pandemic Saffron no longer has buffet but they are open for take out. Pizza Factory shares the same kitchen / owners as Saffron.

 

Chirpyhut is coming to Burnaby Kingsway! This location is still under construction. Chirpyhut is known for FRIED CHICKEN!

Hon Sushi used to have AYCE sushi a few years ago, but now they only do a la carte Japanese and Korean food.

Hi Five Chicken at Kingsway is pretty new location. They’re a local fried chicken chain known for being open 24 hours!

 

Old Orchard Shopping Centre
Save On Foods, bubble tea cafes, doner, liquor store. There was a bowling alley here but it closed.

Crystal Mall opened in 2001! It is an ethnic shopping center, originally catering to the local Chinese community. There is the food court, market, and multiple restaurants and offices. There is even a Hilton hotel connected to the mall.

 

Crystal Mall food court maybe the place for cheap eats but there are lots of restaurants outside of the food court worth checking out.

The construction of the new Station Square has been going on for many years now. They are adding more residential towers and more storefronts. Station Square is right across from Crystal Mall.

Crystal Mall is the biggest ethnic mall in Burnaby and Vancouver. Other big ethnic malls are in Richmond.
