Chicko Chicken is a new fried chicken franchise serving Korean style fried chicken. There are 3 locations in BC: 2 in Coquitlam and 1 in Burnaby, with many more planned. This location in Burnaby is just off Edmonds street near Kingsway with entrance back of building.
Chicko Chicken says their batter mix and sauces are imported from Korea which gives their chicken an authentic flavour and presentation. There are 6 flavours of fried chicken. Original, Yangyeom, Cheese Snow, Soy Garlic, Buldak, and Padak Padak. You can choose Boneless or Bone-in.

Chicko Chicken is based on weight around 800 grams, whole chicken chopped up into pieces, around 10 -12 pieces varying sizes.
Boneless is like Chicken Tenders, while Bone-in is like real chicken! The Full meal comes with a side of radish, and a drink. You get a choice of canned soda or bottled water.
Original Fried Chicken Bone-In.
Nice crunchy batter. It is has a unique flavour, not heavily seasoned like KFC. The chicken size varies, and pricing is based on weight not pieces, drumsticks or thighs.
Yangyeom Fried Chicken Bone-in
A sweet and mildly spicy sauce. It was not spicy at all, with no burning. The chicken size varies, and pricing is based on weight not pieces, drumsticks or thighs.

$$ AFFORDABLE. Price based on weight, not individual pieces. Menu Half or Full.
QUALITY:
GOOD! Bone-in chicken size varies. Not all pieces are drumsticks or thighs. The Original and Yangyeom flavouring are good, and the batter texture is crunchy. The chicken is cooked upon order and is served hot and fresh.
Some pieces are bonier than others because it is the whole chicken. The chicken is not covered with fat like you’d find at Churchs or KFC.
SERVICE:
GOOD! Friendly. Good explanations of the menu and items. Was told to wait 25 minutes for making the chicken.
VERDICT:
Overall, SATISFIED. Chicko Chicken offers unique delicious Korean fried chicken, worth repeat visits to try the other flavours or stick to your favorites. Officially addicted to Chicko Chicken!
