POKEMON BAKERY
A bakery in East Vancouver has added something unusual to the menu. Behind glass, under the shelves of fresh baked buns, on the lowest part of their showcase are POKEMON cards.
The bakery decided it was not enough to sell steamed buns, and assorted pastries, they needed to jump on the Pokemon bandwagon. Have you ever seen ETBs next to baking trays?
Located in Joyce-Collingwood Bao Bakery is a popular spot for Asian pastries, dim sum, and bao steamed buns. To see them reselling Pokemon products is a shock as the business is frequented by students and families in the area.
The products appear a mix of old and new sealed Pokemon.

Bao Bakery is a family-run business not a franchise so they can do what they want. I doubt this place have a card distributor as it’s a bakery and not a card store, and most likely acquire Pokemon through retail means, like Costco.
Pokemon cards in a bakery seems out of place. The bakery has been around for many years and seems like business is going well. But you have to wonder if the bao buns not selling enough that the owner added Pokemon cards to make some extra cash.
Is this a bad look or good business decision for Bao Bakery?
