OAKRIDGE PARK MALL OPENING MAY 28 BUT WILL IT BE A FLOP – VANCOUVER FOOD AND TRAVEL GUIDE – GUTOM.CA

OPENING SOON

OAKRIDGE PARK

OLD MALL REBUILT

Oakridge Park the redeveloped mall located at the corner of Cambie and 41st is reopening on May 28. But will it be another flop like Burnaby’s The Amazing Brentwood?

Oakridge is a hub known for transit connecting to the Airport Skytrain, and bus to UBC. The old mall Oakridge has been redeveloped into condo towers and a new mall.

Oakridge Park promises to have luxury shopping experience, and high-end food hall called Time Out Market Vancouver. https://www.timeout.com/time-out-market-vancouver

Coming Spring 2026! Vancouver will soon be home to a brand new Time Out Market – the food and cultural market bringing the best of the city together under one roof, showcasing the best chefs, restaurateurs, drinks and cultural experiences – all based on Time Out’s editorial curation.

Another mall underwent a similar redevelopment. Brentwood Town Centre in Burnaby was torn down and rebuilt into The Amazing Brentwood a community with towners and high-end shopping and food court , however the reviews have been less than stellar.

The Google reviews are flooded with complaints about paid parking, limited shopping, mostly restaurants outdoors, and a strange layout that doesn’t make it suitable for walking.

The Amazing Brentwood is considered a marvel of construction but a flop to everyday people.

With Oakridge Park opening in Phases, we will find out very soon if it’s a hit or miss with the public.
