GUTOM EATS! Toranj Food is a new restaurant on Robson Street serving Persian sandwiches, burgers, and more. Let’s check it out!
Persian Sandwiches are not very well known in Vancouver. Toranj has some unique eats different from typical Italian or Vietnamese sandwich shop.
The current menu is simple. They plan to add Pizza at some point in the future. The sandwiches are either ‘sub’ or burger with various Persian style fillings.
The location at the corner of Robson and Richards is perfect for people watching. Lots of good restaurants to have lunch in this area!

Delster $2.99 This is like a ginger beer.
Lamb Brain and Beef Tongue Sandwich $20.99 This was recommended by the nice lady working. It’s definitely different!
How often do you go to lunch and order Lamb Brain and Beef Tongue. It tastes like liverwurst, and has some onions and pickle to add some kick.
Toranj Fries $6.99
Fries are not included with the sandwich.
Toranj Cheese Burger $21.99
Includes salad and fries. The bun is soft and is a very cheesy burger!
PRICE:
$$. Prices seem similar to eating at Earls or Cactus Club. Dropping $20 on a cheese burger but it includes a salad and fries which is good value.
QUALITY:
GOOD! Fresh HOT prepared each order by the chef. Flavours are good. The meat itself could use some spices, and hot sauce. Burger comes sliced, and fries are served with condiments.
SERVICE:
GOOD! Friendly and helpful. A bit of a wait to get food because it’s prepared/cooked to order.
VERDICT:
Overall, SATISFIED. Toranj Food is a unique addition to the Vancouver food scene, and offers some tasty authentic Persian street food.
