The Planet Traveler Hostel in Toronto. Located at Kensington Market on College Street. This hostel is popular! It features a rooftop view of the city!
Planet Traveler is cool hostel with modern interior. It’s in an older building with stairs to each floor but overall it is feels fresh and inviting.
Choose a private room or dorm. Depending on the time of year prices can be $50 – $70+ per night. There are some restrictions like a minimum 2 night stay.
Kitchen Tour – There’s Free Breakfast, and popcorn! There’s plenty of space, plates, two microwaves, and a section for free food from fellow travelers.
Fridge – Lots of fridge space to keep our food cool. Remember to LABEL your food! Or someone might assume it’s free for all to EAT.
Activities – There are plenty of events and activities for the guests like Movie Night, Trivia Night, and Pub Crawl!
Rooftop
The rooftop is awesome!
It features a BBQ, patio seating, and benches for you and your new friends.

Pods
Pod Room – 8 Beds
Street facing corner room. In suite bathroom, lockers. High ceiling and large windows. Spacious!
Pod Tour – Spacious pod includes reading light, power outlet, vent and privacy curtain.
The pod can be a little noisy!
More squeaky than a regular bunk bed! Compared to a bunk bed, the pod moves less with any tossing and turning.
Pro Tip – Bring headphones/earplugs!
OR book another room with non-pod beds. Lots of choices here at Planet Traveler!
Bathrooms
There are bathrooms all around the hostel and in the dorms rooms. Like this bathroom in the hallway. Bathroom in the lobby with a scale!
There’s also bathrooms on the rooftop. Seems like plenty for all the guests.
Kitchen
In the morning the kitchen is clean, and breakfast is set up and ready for guests. Come hungry!
Lobby
Nice seating and benches to encourage meeting fellow travelers, and phone booths for taking private calls! Overall, a pleasant hostel experience in Toronto.

QUALITY:
GOOD! Clean rooms, clean kitchen, clean bathrooms, clean sheets.
SERVICE:
GOOD! Friendly and helpful!
VERDICT:
Overall, VERY SATISFIED. There is no cafe or bar in this hostel but it’s near pubs and restaurants. It is pretty quiet and faces away from the busy party street (Augusta Ave). If you are in a dorm facing College Street like the Pod room, you will hear the streetcar.
The chill vibes are good for socializing and the events like Trivia puts you in groups with fellow travelers. The lobby with TV is nice with computers, and the rooftop indoor/outdoor section is a highlight. This is a great hostel if you are visiting Toronto.
