UPDATE TOMOKAZU JAPANESE RESRTAURANT DITCHES LUNCH HOURS NOW ONLY OPEN FOR DINNER – VANCOUVER FOOD AND TRAVEL GUIDE – GUTOM.CA

UPDATE

NO MORE LUNCH AT TOMOKAZU SEPTEMBER 2021

Tomokazu Japanese Restaurant known for the popular All You Can Sushi in Vancouver has CUT Lunch from their restaurant hours. They are now only open at 4PM for Dinner.

There could be any number of reasons why the restaurant decided to cut lunch hours. The cost of food, understaffed, not enough customers at lunch, or maybe the pandemic restrictions like the BC vaccine card could all be reasons why lunch is no longer on the menu. The vaccine card is required when dining at Tomokazu.

Hopefully, this is temporary and will lunch will return when restrictions are lifted or when they hire more staff. Not too long ago they introduced a new lunch menu.

Tomokazu has had a rough start since it was sold to new owners. With pandemic restrictions, a renovation, and revised menu and prices, the Google reviews are divided. There are many aggressive comments related to their Reservation Only policy.

Based on Gutom’s multiple experiences at Tomokazu, the new owners are providing good food, and the prices are fair. The business needed a fresh start.

There a was a dine-and-dash incident at the restaurant September 9th, which was posted to Tomokazu’s Google page. A group of 7 diners decided they didn’t want to pay for the meal. Tomokazu says they filed a report to the Vancouver Police and banned those people from the restaurant who were very aggressive toward the servers.

The only other Lunch AYCE sushi choice is Shabusen in Downtown Vancouver.
