UBE is the Filipino word for a Purple Yam. Ube is a favorite of Filipinos for the bright color, and flavour. Ube is used in desserts, pastries and even ice cream! Bao Bakery and New Town Bakery serve Filipino and Chinese food and are famous for their Shiopao Steamed Buns (Bao).
